Hide that breast ...

On rereading Diderot’s The Indiscreet Jewels, the antiquarian Paul-Louis Flandrin had the idea to exhibit the erotic jewelry of a handful of designers. Clementine Despocq’s pieces pay tribute to the breast, a strong symbol that she portrays as precious and delicate. She seeks to imitate skin that she sets and recovers with eggshell. She decorates the nipples with a pearl, like a tiny drop of milk.
