This 60’s-70’s emsemble, formed by a necklace and a curb chain, is by the jeweler Fred. The large textured links are made of several engraved and threaded wires, the effect is called “Paillette” because of its shiny granite-like look.
This particularly sought-after mesh bears the prestigious hallmark of a master: it was developed and manufactured in the Parisian workshop of Georges Lenfant. This chain specialist also masterfully produced all other types of chainmail: Polonaise, Milanaise, English, snake, and spirotube. And he did so for all the great jewelers – works that collectors are now snatching up.
