This 8th Parisian exhibition at the School of Jewelry Arts pays a remarkable tribute to the work of avant-garde designer Jean Vendome. Still little known to the general public, he nevertheless opened up many avenues for modern jewelry during the 20th century. Not to be missed: private visits (possibility to be accompanied by a thematic lecture given by the curator of the exhibition, a gemologist or an art historian).

Until December 18th 2020 at The School of Jewelry Arts, 31 rue Danielle Casanova – Paris 1st

My favorites

Fresh and spring-like, this vintage necklace in gold metal is adorned with animal charms: rabbits, ladybugs, mice and even winking owls. Presented in

A "Skier" vintage brooch, Sonia Rykiel

This brooch is just so Rykiel! We can make out the pretty little face, the red and black sequined beret, the flying marabou bolero and the striped knitwear.

"Make Up" vintage charms bracelet, Chanel

This jaunty Chanel vintage bracelet plays the miniaturization card. The tinkling charms come in symbols and motifs emblematic of the house.

1990s necklace, Hervé Van der Straeten

Formed by stylized sunbeams cut out of a gilt metal plaque, this 1990s necklace is typical of the powerful, sculptural, highly refined style of Hervé Van...

Imperial topaz and fine pearls brooch, 19th century

This imperial topaz of over 16 carats boasts a particularly sought-after shade: champagne and peach (i.e. pinky-orange) at each end.

Vintage gold coin bracelet

The bracelet is self-sufficient, but is given additional charm by the intriguing coin, affixed at some unknown date.
