A charming Art Nouveau ring made by Georges Fouquet. The typical gold setting – all curves and arabesques – merges with undulating nature. On a green enamel background, the dancing female figure in gold seems to emerge from the surrounding frame. Her skirt ends in tentacles, suggesting a hybrid with a butterfly.

This is a rare opportunity to buy an Art Nouveau jewel by Georges Fouquet, who collaborated with Mucha and was, along with Lalique and Vever, a major jeweler of the period. Indeed, few of his magnificent and demonstrative jewels, which so captivated Sarah Bernhardt, have come down to us.
